Well, it’s that time of year again! And I thought I’d have a bit of fun and do up 3 Festive Place Settings for a bit of inspiration. Instead of going all out, each design is kept minimal in its overall aesthetic but still achieves the desired festive look depending on your taste!

I was absolutely ecstatic when one of my clients reached out about working with her boys to redesign their rooms (and to do a bit of updating around the rest of the home too)! It was so much fun to sit down with each of her sons and discuss how they wanted to feel in their rooms. And now, I may not be a parent, but I think it was such a great experience for them to sit down with a professional and be able to communicate what they wanted in a room, have a full say in the process and then see their vision come to life. And I was just blown away by the amount of thought they put into it. The only request from mom and dad was that I ensured it stayed on budget and their designs worked with the rest of the home.

If you’ve ever bought or sold a house, the topic of staging likely came up. There are several reasons why I almost always recommend that a house be staged before it’s put on the market and I will share those with you here. I’ll also share some before and after photos of a home we recently staged.

And you know what, within 48 hours of it being listed, it already had 5 showings.

It’s rare that a property we work on needs to be staged for longer than 4 weeks (unless it’s a very specific home or it isn’t priced properly). It’s usually snapped up well before then.

I am so excited to finally share this wonderful kitchen transformation! This lovely home in the Edmonton neighbourhood of North Glenora already had loads of character but the kitchen needed some love. We actually started the design process while my client was overseas - despite the distance and the differing time zones we were able to get the overall design figured out so that we were ready to go upon her return.

This time, we’re featuring Nancy and her walk-in closet. When we began, the closet was a space that Nancy didn’t enjoy. It was packed full, not really organized and just felt heavy. What she wanted was a space that was almost like a retreat, where she could truly enjoy the beautiful items she has and would love getting ready each morning.

By now I’m sure you’ve seen bits and pieces of it on Instagram but here is the full tour!

Arguably, the living room was one of the spaces that had the least amount of work done to it. Although by a lot of standards, we still did quite a bit of work.

As many of you know, I recently completed the inaugural Inspired Room Transformation program with 7 amazing humans. I’m going to share a few of their transformations! First up to be showcased is Tamara and her Basement transformation! She turned this bland and boring basement into an inviting and warm space for her clients to relax (and where she can relax too) !

I know you’re just hoping to get some assistance in what seems like an endless choice of various, similar shades of white. I understand, I do. But here’s the thing. It doesn’t matter what other people think is the best white.

I truly believe that this one, small, relatively inexpensive action sets the tone for your landlord-tenant relationship.

Well now I have a home base for my business. A space that I LOVE to sit and work in. A space where I feel calm, creative, focused and let’s be honest, I feel like a boss in this space. It actually makes my business feel more legit. I feel productive in this space and you know what - my business has expanded since I moved into this space. And yeah, that means increased profits too.

I’m sure you’ve heard it before, collaboration over competition. This is something I aim to focus on in my business. The others out there who are doing similar things to me are technically my competition in the business sense of the word but in reality, I choose not to see them this way. Here’s why:

I am so excited to share this family room transformation! For one, the before and after is a little mind blowing, but mainly, I adore this project because of what it created for this amazing family. It went from an underused, underloved space to THE space in the house to hang out, entertain, do homework, and most importantly - spend time together as a family. I feel as though the theme of this whole project was trust. I definitely suggested changes that pushed my clients out of their comfort zone. That can be hard for anyone. But when it came down to it, they knew that there was a reason they brought me in to begin with and that they just had to trust. Suffice it to say, they are very happy they did.
