A Fully Furnished Family Home
While we typically showcase more renovation projects, we also love handling the furnishing and decor of your home. For this project, our clients and their two young children were upsizing from a condo to a new infill home in Edmonton’s beautiful Belgravia neighbourhood. The goal was to create a space equally suited for hosting and quiet moments together as a family.
We took care of two living spaces, two dining spaces, two entries, the kitchen and powder room, as well as the window coverings throughout the home. This is another one of our full-service projects, meaning the clients could sit back and enjoy the process while we brought their new home to life.

Where we started
The home was essentially a lovely blank slate, full of warm woods, brass accents and abundant natural light.
One of the main challenges was how open the layout is, with nearly every aspect of the main floor visible at any given time, and with an open staircase located in the centre. This meant we needed to ensure everything flowed together seamlessly, while still creating defined, purposeful spaces.
The Design
While furnishings and decor were our main focus, we also made a few hard-finish updates to personalize the space. These included:
An abstract vinyl wallpaper in the mudroom - perfect for protecting the drywall from dings and scratches when backpacks and coats are tossed against it.
Pendants above the island to make the kitchen feel cozier and add visual interest.
A dark feature wall in the living room to help the large TV blend in, allowing the fireplace and niches to still be the focal point.
Our clients wanted to a home that supported both large gatherings and everyday life with their family of four. As a result, we created a natural division between more public and private spaces.
At the back of the house, you’ll find the cozy, curl-up-and-watch-TV living room, the smaller dining table for daily meals and the primary family entry. The front of the home features the large dining table, an additional sitting area and the main entry. Although “the bean” sofa in the sitting area (as we affectionately call it), is a favourite spot for people and dog watching.
The majority of the furniture was sourced through our trade-only suppliers and delivered on the same day with white-glove service. From initial selections to final placement, every detail was handled by our team. We also sourced all the artwork and arranged for our installer to professionally hang each piece once we finalized placement onsite.
The End Result
As soon as you walk in, you’re welcomed by beautiful natural light, warm wood tones, and layered neutrals in various textures and materials. The front entry keeps things simple with a few pillows on the built-in bench and a large, washable rug at the door.
The formal dining area features a large, custom table that comfortably seats 14 when both leaves are in. The leather and wood dining chairs offer comfort and easy cleanup for big family dinners.
Adjacent to the dining room is the sitting area. The sofa acts as an extension of the dining space, providing a spot for guests to relax while still being part of the action. It’s also perfect for reading, enjoying a coffee with a friend, or just watching the world go by.
Each rug on the open-concept main floor is unique but tied together through colour tones and abstract patterns. I especially love the uniquely shaped rug in the sitting area that pulls in the greens of the plants and echoes the other colours in the artwork.
We layered a mix of wood tones, fabrics, leather, marble, metal, greenery and various art mediums to create a curated, visually engaging space. The result? A room that keeps your eyes moving, noticing new elements with every glance.
The kitchen pendants add intimacy to the space, while the chosen barstools are easy to clean and perfect for the kids, thanks to their supportive full backs.
In the back entry, we used a durable, graphic vinyl wallpaper that adds visual interest while protecting the wall. And of course, a Chilewich shag rug—attractive and hose-down friendly.
The day-to-day dining table uses the same chairs as the formal space, making it easy to pull them over when hosting larger groups. The repetition of marble and metal finishes helps unify both sides of the home.
A small bench under the window does double duty as a plant stand and extra seating when needed.
While the powder room already had plenty of personality with its bold wallpaper, lighting, and curved mirror, we added artwork and hand towels to tie it into the rest of the home.
And finally, the back living space. Designed for curling up, watching TV and enjoying relaxed family time. That’s why we chose a large sectional and a swivelling cuddle chair as the main furniture pieces in this space.
We repainted the back wall in a stunning dark bronze to help the TV recede and better define the space. While the niches wouldn’t have been our first choice (they are quite shallow and the sizing limits what they can be used for), we kept them because of the integrated lighting. We styled them with subtle, neutral décor that supports the client’s minimal aesthetic.
The nearly eight-foot-wide artwork above the sectional is one of my favourite pieces in the home. It’s bold, dramatic and fits the space perfectly.
The coffee table offers hidden storage for blankets and toys, and two poufs tucked behind the swivel chair can be pulled out as needed for extra seating or lounging.
This fully furnished family home in Edmonton’s Belgravia neighbourhood strikes the perfect balance between comfort and sophistication. By layering texture, tone, and thoughtfully chosen pieces, we created a space that feels inviting and elevated; ideal for entertaining, yet perfectly suited to everyday life with two young children. From the public-facing rooms at the front of the home to the cozy, intimate spaces at the back, every detail was considered to support the rhythms of this family's life. The end result is a beautifully curated home that feels intentional, functional, and full of warmth.
